Grab & Go Family Packs

Some mornings in our House are early. Really early.

Families with a child in hospital often wake before dawn so they can be by their child’s side. In those moments, breakfast and snacks matter – but they’re easy to miss.

That’s why we created Grab & Go Family Packs – practical bags filled with nutritious breakfast items and snacks that families can take with them as they move between the House and the hospital.

A simple thing, but it makes a real difference to a family’s day.

How the Grab & Go Family Packs Programme Works

What We Provide

Grab & Go Family Packs are ready to eat, wholesome bags of food designed to help parents start the day with something in their stomach, no fuss, no preparation needed.

What's Inside

Each pack contains portable, nourishing items such as fruit, snack bars, porridge pots and drinks. Quick fuel for families rushing between the hospital ward and the rest of their day.

Who It Helps

Parents and caregivers who are up early to be with their child. When families are focused on what matters most, being together, something as small as breakfast can make a real difference.

Ways You and Your Team Can Get Involved

Grab & Go Family Packs is a flexible volunteer option that works really well for teams or groups who want a practical, hands-on activity that benefits families straight away.

1

Pack Grab & Go Bags as a Team

Gather your group in your workplace or community space and pack the bags together. It’s a great way to work as a unit, do something worthwhile and contribute to families’ daily life.

2

Donate Items From our Wish List

If you’d prefer to organise a drive, you can ask colleagues, friends or classmates to donate grab-and-go items from our wish list  then bring them to the House to be packed.

3

Combine with Fundraising

Many teams pair their bag packing with a fundraising event  like a bake sale, coffee morning or dress-down day  and use the funds to buy items from the wish list.

Time Together

Volunteers pack bags with energy and purpose. It’s practical work that feels good and results in something immediate  bags ready for families the next morning.

Delivery

If you’re up for it, a small group from your team can deliver the finished packs to Ronald McDonald House Ireland and see the impact firsthand.

Why this matters

Grab & Go Family Packs are simple, but they solve a real everyday problem.

They mean that when a parent has been awake since before sunrise, they don’t also have to worry about food. They can spend more time with their child. They can move between House and hospital with one less thing on their mind.

That’s practical support that matters.
