Caring for a seriously ill child is exhausting. It affects every part of daily life, often in ways parents do not expect.
At Ronald McDonald House Ireland, our Wellness Programme is designed to support parents and caregivers while they stay with us. It creates space to rest, reset and take care of yourself, without having to leave your child or the hospital behind.
Wellness at the House is not about fixing everything. It is about small moments of relief that help families get through each week.
Our Wellness Programme provides practical, accessible supports that fit around hospital life and long stays.
Activities vary throughout the year and are always optional. Everything is designed to be low pressure and easy to take part in.
Families can join in when it suits them, or simply enjoy the space
We take a whole person approach to wellbeing. Our programme is shaped around key areas that matter most during long hospital stays.
These supports recognise the reality families are living in. Stress, tiredness and uncertainty are part of the experience. Our role is to ease the load where we can.
When parents and caregivers are supported, families cope better. They are better able to make decisions, advocate for their child, and stay present through long and difficult days.
Looking after yourself is not a luxury. It is part of getting through this time.
At Ronald McDonald House Ireland, caring for families means caring for the people who care most.
