Deep Clean Volunteering

Some jobs make a visible difference in a single day.

Deep Clean Volunteering is for teams who want to roll up their sleeves and take on the big tasks that keep Ronald McDonald House Ireland running at its best. These are the deep, detailed, often hard-to-reach jobs that go beyond daily cleaning – the kind of work that transforms spaces and improves comfort for families staying with us.

It’s hands-on, practical and high impact.

Family stays – and your work helps make that stay better.

What is a Deep Clean Day?

A Deep Clean Day is an intensive volunteer session where a small team comes into the House and tackles priority jobs that our regular cleaning and facilities teams don’t always have time to get to.

These are the tasks that lift the standard of the environment and make daily life easier and more comfortable for families.

These tasks can include:

Deep cleaning kitchens & shared spaces

Reorganising storage areas & family supplies

Refreshing toy rooms & play scenes

Sorting & resetting donation rooms

Garden & outdoor tidy projects

Large once-off practical jobs around the house

Who this suits

Best team size is around five volunteers so work can be coordinated safely and efficiently.

This is not a light activity day. It’s a proper work day – and teams usually love it for that reason.

Deep Clean Volunteering is ideal for:

Corporate Teams

Workplace Volunteer Days

Community Group

Practical, task-focused teams

Groups who like active, physical volunteering

How it works

Deep Clean Days are scheduled based on House needs, not fixed dates. We open slots when priority projects are identified.

No guesswork. No standing around. Real jobs that matter.

The typical flow looks like this:

1

Your team books an available Deep Clean slot

2

We brief you in advance on the tasks planned

3

You arrive for orientation and safety guidance

4

Your team is assigned priority jobs for the day

5

You work through a focused project list with our team

6

By the end of the day, you’ll see a clear before-and-after difference

What your team should expect

This is structured, practical volunteering. Dress should be practical and suitable for cleaning and lifting tasks. This is not office volunteering – it’s action volunteering.

Expect:

Clear Task Lists

Proper Equipment Provided

Staff Guidance On Priorities

Physical, Hands-On Work

Visible Results By The End Of The Day

Why it matters

Families are living here during one of the most stressful periods of their lives. Clean, organised, well-kept spaces are not just nice to have – they directly affect comfort, calm and daily routine.

Deep Clean teams help keep the House working properly behind the scenes – and families feel the benefit.
